The Davidson Honors College at UM-Missoula is sponsoring the Schwanke Honors Institute for high school students who will be either juniors or seniors next fall. The Summer 2008 Institute will take place on campus from June 15 – 27.  Students will live in University residence halls and take courses from outstanding faculty members.  Students will have the choice of taking one of three courses:  Chemistry 195-Potions 101; English 195-Creative Writing, and Media Arts 195-Story and Film Production.  Each course is worth 2 semester credits and will meet every day from 9 am to noon.  The Institute will organize a number of scheduled activities such as hikes and tours, but students will have some unstructured time.  Enrollment is limited to 20 per class, so early application is encouraged.  Deadline is April 1.  There are some need-based scholarships available; otherwise, cost is tuition-$425.50, lodging-$198 double occupancy for 12 nights; and choice of meal plan - $54 - $129.  Application form available from Mrs. Linnell.
