Delta Kappa Gamma RHO Chapter will offer two scholarships in the amount of $300 to two area students who are completing their junior year of college studies and who are in the field of elementary or secondary education.  They must be graduates of Browning, Conrad, Cut Bank, Shelby, Sunburst or Valier High School. Any interested persons may request an application fro their respective local high school counselor’s office.  The application will be due in the counselor’s office by March 31, 2008.

 

Delta Kappa Gamma Society International was established in 1929 to promote professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.  Established in 1957, Rho Chapter includes educators from Browning, Heart Butte, East Glacier, Conrad, Cut Bank, Shelby, Sunburst, and Valier.

 

One of these scholarships is a one time gift in memory of Betty Coolidge who passed away in 2006.  Betty Coolidge was a Rho Charter member and an Alpha Mu State Founder.  She taught for 17 years in the Shelby Elementary Schools and was a strong advocate for public education.  She actively supported literacy programs, and was involved in her community.
